Division H Two Minute Report

Membership

According to the Dashboards today Division H has 8 out of 17 clubs with less than eight members – three of these clubs are listed at seven and only needing one new member to get them where they need to be as a paid club

All of this could change in the next two months.

Renewal period is open and ends in March. If clubs do not get to eight members their standings will change. This could be a problem for clubs with members in the speech contests if they suddenly become ineligible.

Many times clubs have sufficient number of goals met to achieve Distinguished or better – but – alas – they fail to get it because the club does not meet the membership requirements. It was the reason we started the one new member per month per club program. Membership remains a problem for clubs in Division H.

Area Directors and Club Officers are not emphasizing this enough. If they continue to slack on this particular issue, we will see the results in terms of non-paid clubs at the end of March. The same problem is likely to rear its head throughout the entire District if focus does not change.

There are two sides to the DCP program, Membership and Goals. Having the goals met without the correct membership is meaningless. Two sides, two phases. Division H needs to concentrate on getting membership up between now and the end of March. Membership drives, open houses, whatever it takes. After that we work on achieving the goals to get DCP qualified clubs.
