On Aug 21, 2024 Downtown Toastmasters, Downtown Overachievers and Downtown Soul Speakers ran a wonderfully successful open house event combining the need for new members and membership renewals.
There was dessert, chips and salsa, water and give-a-ways. Including a $50 gift certificate to a local Mexican restaurant. Gift certificates were given to those people who were brand new members as of that meeting and who renewed their membership at that meeting.
As a result, word got out once again that renewals are due, and one member renewed for a year in advance. Also, one new member application was with payment. Two other members promised to renew their memberships, and a new guest promised to join. Guests who attended previously multiple times also got into the mood and committed to become members in the near future.
