District 33 Toastmasters,

As we continue our journey of growth and excellence, we encourage you to renew your membership and reaffirm your commitment to becoming a more confident speaker and leader. Toastmasters offers a unique platform to refine your communication skills, build leadership abilities, and connect with a supportive community that fosters personal and professional growth.

This week, we invite you to reflect on your Toastmasters journey and share your story with fellow members and friends. What inspired you to join? What keeps you coming back? Your testimony might encourage someone else to take the leap and embark on their journey of self-improvement.

Here are a couple of inspiring testimonies from our members:

I remain a member of Toastmasters to improve my public speaking skills. I noticed that some newscasters could benefit from joining Toastmasters to enhance their speaking abilities, given that millions of people listen to them.

— Sharon Knox, Area Director

My journey with Toastmasters Club began with an invitation from my sister-in-law. Without any specific goals in mind, I decided to join because I was drawn to the club’s vibrant atmosphere and the way it encouraged personal growth through public speaking. Initially, my participation was more out of curiosity and the enjoyment of the community rather than any concrete ambitions.

As I settled into the club, I took on the role of the Ah Counter. This position tasked me with identifying and counting filler words, such as ‘uh’ and ‘um’, during speeches. Through this role, I honed my listening skills, an aspect of communication often overlooked. Becoming aware of filler words not only improved my ability to listen attentively but also helped me become more conscious of my own speech patterns.

My journey with Toastmasters Club has been transformative. What started as a casual interest has evolved into a passionate pursuit of personal and intellectual growth. The roles I’ve taken on, the speeches I’ve delivered, and the goals I’ve set have all contributed to my development as a speaker and a leader.
