Basecamp is scheduled to go down for maintenance and upgrading as the NEW Basecamp gets rolled out. Basecamp will be down from Oct 9 through Oct 24. It is possible to be down longer, therefore, you should prepare ahead of time since we have notice of its currently scheduled downtime.

It is highly recommended that each member goes into their Basecamp and download a minimum of four projects to work on during the downtime. You may or may not get to them all depending on your schedule. If you think you need more projects, then feel free to print them out ahead of time as well.

To Download Pathways:
1. Go to: Toastmasters.org & log in
2. Click on ‘Base Camp’ (it’s a big button on the left hand side of the page, on the page)
3. Click on the club name
4. Scroll down to the box titled ‘Paths & Learning’. Then click on ‘open curriculum’ of the path of your choice
5. Go to your next level & project
6. On the right hand side, click on ‘launch’ (or activated if you haven’t done that yet, then launch)
7. At the very bottom of the pathway page- in the middle, you’ll see a box with an arrow that says ‘select to move to another section’
8. Click on that and navigate to ‘Your Evaluation/Your Evaluation and Resources’
9. On the right side you’ll see ‘print my project’. Click on that
10. It will open a PDF. Download & save to your computer
11. Will need to do for each project you want to have (multiple downloads for each level)

Once Basecamp come back online you can go in and update your projects with the printed material your completed during the downtime. If you need any help on how to download or print out your projects feel free to contact your Club Officers, Area Directors or myself.

Looking forward to seeing your continued success toward your Toastmaster goals.

Below is a Letter I received from Toastmasters International on the subject matter.

September 6, 2024

Dear Club Officer,

We’ve heard from many of you that your members are eagerly awaiting the new and improved Base Camp user experience. The wait is almost over!

To prepare for this transition, there will be a Base Camp outage beginning on October 9, 2024, that is expected to last through October 25, 2024, while we conduct critical platform testing. If testing goes well, we plan to go live soon after this outage period!

We recognize that the Base Camp outage means members won’t be able to access their education for several days. Print out/reference this checklist to make sure your members are prepared to go without accessing the platform for a short period:
Review the details that will be sent to all members regarding information and documents that will not be available in the new system.Remind members when Base Camp will be unavailable in October.Approve any pending Level completions in Base Camp and submit them on Club Central before October 9.This will ensure that progress is up-to-date and accurate when they log into the new system.Point members to the Your Evaluation page in their projects on Base Camp to download full PDFs of any project in their path they may want to access during the outage.Make sure members know that they can access evaluation resources from the Resource Library on the Toastmasters website. If members of your club would like an evaluation resource in a language other than English, have them download this from the resources page on Base Camp before October 9.Get ready to onboard new members during the outage. While new members won’t be able to log into Base Camp right away, they will be able to start their Ice Breaker. Send them this link so they can get started. If they complete the Ice Breaker during the outage, simply have them mark the project complete once Base Camp is up and they’ve selected a path.Encourage members to renew now so they can access the system right away when it goes live!
The new Base Camp will improve the Toastmasters education experience, and we hope you are as excited as we are for the change. We will continue to share updates on the Base Camp outage and launch date. In the meantime, thank you for supporting your club during this transition.

Sincerely,

Education Team
