Virtual District Council meeting

To the District Executive Committee and all

District 33 Club Presidents and VPs Education 

Dear District Council Members,

Please save the date for a virtual meeting on Saturday, September 28 beginning at 10:00 AM. Toastmasters International requires we send an announcement to you four weeks in advance and  to conduct  the meeting virtually. We will utilize our Zoom Large Meeting video platform.  

The District Council consists of all club Presidents and Vice Presidents Education (VPEs) plus the  District leaders who comprise the District Executive Committee. A quorum is required to conduct business.  Therefore, we must have 1/3 of the District’s club Presidents and VPEs in attendance.  When a meeting  is conducted virtually, no proxies will be permitted during voting.  Each District Council member must cast his/her own vote. 

District Executive Committee members are entitled to one (1) vote and may cast up to two (2) additional votes as a Club President or Vice President Education. The VPE and the President each has one vote.  Note in order to vote you will need to register.

Please register in advance for the meeting, using this link to indicate your attendance.  This will let us know ahead of time whether we will have a quorum at our meeting.  In addition, it allows us to assign each of you to all of the ballots necessary for  voting during the meeting.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting so that special ballot(s) can be prepared for each member.
Our agenda (subject to change) is:
  • Approve District 33 budget  
  • Approve appointed officer roles  
  • Approve Council meeting minutes from the May 2019 Annual Business Meeting
  • Select which additional Contest will be held at the Annual District Conference in April (Humorous, Evaluation, Tall Tales, Table Topics). The International Speech Contest will continue to be held at the Annual Conference.
  • Any new business
Per Toastmasters International policy, the Council Meeting Agenda, the list of Appointed District Leaders, the Council Meeting Minutes and the proposed District Budget must be published 2 weeks before the council meeting. In addition, if there is any new business, supporting documents will be available at that same time. Information for how you will cast votes during the meeting will also be provided.
